Kate Shoemaker

After 30+ years as an elementary teacher, I am now able to devote more time to creating gourd art. I continue to experiment with new forms, techniques and finishes.  The most exciting element of creating gourd art is the unique characteristics of each gourd. I'm never quite sure what a piece will become, until it is complete.  I love to use deep, rich colors to enhance the natural beauty of each gourd.  I hope you enjoy the beauty of each gourd, as much as I do.
